You are entering a field that is in high demand, so your chances of getting a job and becoming a security guard are more than excellent!

How to Register for an Online Course:

1. Register by clicking on the course link provided above for Security Guard Card Training -Powers To Arrest (4 hours) Part 1 and follow all the registration instructions to Create a User Account on our Online Campus. You must confirm your user account when you receive the email confirming your user account.

2. Submit your registration for this course and payment by using the following link: https://aapt.acuityscheduling.com/schedule.php?appointmentType=2236873

3. Once we receive your registration with payment and you have created your user account. Your account will be activated within 2 to 4 hours during business hours.

4. You will then need to login using the username and password you created for the course. You will then have complete access to the course.

5. Once the course is completed our instructors will review for course completion and passing grades. The entire course must be completed and passed this course also requires Completion of the Power to Arrest Training Manual Test with 100% score.

6. You will then receive an email requesting additional information to process your PDF Copy of the Certificate of Completion.

7. We will then submit to you the PDF Copy via email within 24 to 48 hours.

In order to apply for security guard registration in the State of California and work as an unarmed security guard, you must:

Be at least 18 years old

Undergo a criminal history background check through the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI); and Complete a 40-hour course of required training. The training and exam may be administered by any private patrol operator or by a certified training facility.

  1. Overview of Power to Arrest Manual and subject matter.
  2. Definition of arrest and discussion on the implications to the subject, the guard and the company.
  3. Lecture/discussion on escalation and de-escalation techniques in the use of force.
  4. Lecture/discussion in the use of restraint techniques and their implications.
  5. Discussion of trespass laws and implications of enforcement.
  6. Completion of the Power to Arrest Training Manual Test with 100% score in accordance with the Manual's Administering Instructions.
